2025 we’re on - what to expect from AgriDigital

With the end of January just around the corner, the scary truth is that we are already one twelfth through 2025!

In 2024, agtech went through what many have called the ‘year of reckoning’. There were notable companies that had to find different business models to survive and a number of voluntary and involuntary exits.

At AgriDigital, we were in our second year of rebuilding and architecting significant portions of the AgriDigital Platform. We can now build and deploy new features and services to our customers faster, more securely and with enhanced quality to limit the inevitable bugs and fixes that come with any major software release. In many cases, partnering with another technology or services provider is better than building a new feature or module from scratch. We are rolling out a new partnership model in 2025 to enhance the value we bring to our customers.

The first half of 2024 was focussed on enhancing Platform stability, improving speed, especially in search, list and report creation and the merger of duplicate users which had been created over time. Ensuring that the correct counterparty is included on all transactions is not only a legal requirement, it saves time and money in correcting details after the fact. This supported our data enrichment program focussed on data integrity, with more to come in 2025.

Our growth over the past few years has been exciting, but perhaps even more exciting has been our customers’ growth. The continued expansion of the AgriDigital network means many more users and a lot more data being created. This is great, because digitising all of these grain supply chain relationships, workflows and inventory balances is what we set out to do when we started AgriDigital. But, it also means that we need to keep investing in the Platform so that our customers continue to get best-in-class service levels - and that these benefits are also felt by our customers’ customers.

One of the side-effects of the increasing familiarity of the agricultural supply chain with digital tools is a leveling up of expectation when it comes to product performance and continuous feature release. And so, the second half of 2024 was very much a focus on releasing as many new features as we could prior to the Australian grain harvest and then building on these releases over the harvest to enhance their value to our customers and to incorporate customer feedback.

That brings us to 2025.

We have another big year of AgriDigital Platform development planned. Our product roadmap for the next 12 months is very full and focussed on increasing the flexibility of bin management for our grain site operators (elevators). For traders there will be a focus on more flexible contract deductions. We will be digging into invoices with the goal of making reconciliation faster and enabling easier sharing of key financial data across other applications, such as accounting systems and business analytics tools.

Growers and brokers currently operate in the AgriDigital network through individual products - AgriDigital Onfarm and AgriDigital Broker. For a long time now we have wanted to enable our grower and broker customers to be able to operate directly in the AgriDigital Platform and we will start to make inroads on this in 2025.

Finally, in exciting news, we will be introducing a new data-only subscription for customers who want to access and mobilise their in-Platform data but who do not need full AgriDigital Platform functionality. This is part of our effort to ensure that we keep supporting whole of supply chain digitisation and that we develop our products and services with the goal of driving down overall supply chain costs.

Our AgriDigital team is super excited about the year ahead. There is a lot to do and we’ve already started. We hope your 2025 is shaping up to be your best year yet. If you want to know more about what we do, have a partnership opportunity to explore, or you can help us achieve our goals so that we can better serve our customers, we would love to hear from you.
